Pace University recreated its lower Manhattan Campus, by connecting the university to the surrounding city and community. This project augments existing space at One Pace Plaza and 41 Park Row by adding 60,000 SF of program space. Student interaction and collaboration centers around a “living room,” designed as a flexible open environment. Other program elements include classrooms, multi-purpose event space, student lounge and administration areas.

Our work helped the project team introduce sound absorptive features that would foster individual study located alongside gathering areas that would see group activities and collaboration. The acoustic needs of individual and group learners were addressed in equal measure. We also evaluated exterior noise from adjacent streets and Brooklyn Bridge access roadway, to ensure suitable interior noise levels will be maintained.

Longman Lindsey is excited to have been part of this transformational project at Pace University, offering students increased opportunities to connect with each other and the NYC environs.
