Longman Lindsey was the acoustical consultant for the Springs Church of Christ in Edmond, Oklahoma. This new building is home to faculty, students and worshippers in a growing faith community.
The new building provides worship area with flexible seating for over four hundred people, podium for spoken word, and front stage for vocal performances with full band accompaniment.
The church is a double height space with classrooms surrounding the worship space, at the rear of both first and second floors. Acoustic treatment was essential to maintain quality speech intelligibility and provide comfortable environment for music. We advised on the location and placement of both sound reflective and sound absorptive panels at the walls and ceiling.
We also provided guidance on sound separation between classrooms, to ensure suitable speech privacy during lectures and study sessions.
