Longman Lindsey are the acoustical consultants for the 65,000 SF Westport Library Transformation Project.

The existing library was building in 1986 and has not been updated to accommodate modern library usage. The program for this project introduces more meeting rooms, Maker Space, Hacker Space, recording studio and expanded café. In addition, the Forum will be a large flexible community space used to host special events, presentations, and every day reading and collaboration. Book stacks will allow reading, study and research with views of the Riverwalk for the nearly 1,500 daily visitors.

Longman Lindsey have been working alongside the project architects and engineers to select acoustic materials that will accommodate the various uses, as well as ensure mechanical systems and equipment are suitably quiet in reading and collaboration areas. We are also contributing to the design of specialty areas such as the Hacker Rooms, which will allow the community to use a variety of new technology.
