The 55 Hudson Yards project is a new 51-story speculative office building located at 34th Street and 11th Avenue in Manhattan. The building will consist of a 9-story podium with a tower above.
Longman Lindsey is providing acoustical review for the building’s architectural and mechanical components, establishing criteria for background noise levels, airborne sound separation, and impact isolation. We also performed testing associated with the co-joining MTA ventilation building to predict noise and vibration levels and how these levels relate to easement and lease requirements. Our acoustical recommendations are providing guidelines to the design team on how to achieve their design goals, performance requirements, and applicable laws, while meeting the needs of the developer, occupants, and community. As the project progresses, we are continuing to review, comment, and aid the design team through project completion.
