The law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett occupies 26 floors at 425 Lexington Avenue, totaling 595,000 SF of Class-A office space in the heart of midtown Manhattan and across from Grand Central Terminal.
The interior office renovation project involved densification, modifying the existing space to accommodate more people in a transition to more open office space. We began the project by benchmarking subway noise transmission and evaluating the interior environment of existing practice floors and private offices. We then created 3-D models of the proposed fit-out and provided acoustical recommendations to improve the acoustical environment of the overall workplace. The new designs include open workstations, private offices, a training room, bathrooms, and an HVAC system. Our recommendations provided Simpson Thacher with the acoustical privacy and workplace environment befitting a world-class law firm.
